유네스코 세계유산 국제해석설명센터(이하 WHIPIC)와 아프리카 세계유산기금(이하 AWHF) 그리고 나미비아 국가유산위원회가 공동 개최한 ‘아프리카 세계유산 해석과 설명 온라인 워크숍’이 10월 19일부터 10월 23일까지 개최되었습니다.
WHIPIC의 이론강의
이 워크숍은 센터가 공식 설립한 이후로 처음으로 개최한 첫 번째 세계유산 해석 국제 역량강화 프로그램으로, 지난 6월 WHIPIC과 AWHF의 업무협약을 기반으로 진행되었습니다. 2023년 세계유산 해석 국제 역량강화 프로그램은 온라인과 현장 워크숍 두 단계로 구성되며, 나미비아 트위펠폰테인에서 개최될 현장 워크숍에 이전에 이론 강의 및 참가자별 사례 발표가 온라인으로 진행되었습니다.
AWHF의 이론강의
이번 온라인 워크숍에는 이집트, 짐바브웨, 수단, 말라위 등 15개국에서 온 30명의 유산 관리자가 참석했습니다. 홍창남 센터장의 개회사를 시작으로 다양한 주제로 세계유산 해석과 설명에 관한 이론적 강의가 진행되었으며, 모든 온라인 참가자들은 자신들의 유산을 사례로 해석에 관한 과제 및 우수 사례를 발표할 기회를 가졌습니다.
참가자 사례발표
또한 참가자들은 시공간적 제약 없이 아시아, 아프리카 지역의 유산 전문가들과의 경험을 교류할 수 있었으며, 자신들의 유산 보존과 홍보를 위한 해석설명 도구와 전략들을 논의할 수 있었던 의미 있는 시간이었습니다.
